Journal for TOMORROW (on your blog): How are the power structures in Lord of the
Flies different from those in The Power of One? How are they different? Be
specific. Write at least 8 sentences.
In the Lord of the Flies, the power isn't a struggle between countries fighting for power, it's boys fighting for survival. In "The Power of One", the struggle comes from more than person vs. person. there is struggle between races, between countries, between politics, and between boxers, but that's just it being a movie with sports. In Lord of the Flies, Ralph never had to fight racism or politicains, but PK does in "The Power of One". PK has to struggle against Nazis, racism, death, prison, and adult ignorance. However, Ralph only needs to worry about Jack and survival. But the situations are similar in the way that PK and Ralph both have the mminority of people in their corners for lack of better terms.
